The plan includes unlimited local calls within Europe using a French number, plus 120 minutes of calls and 1000 texts to worldwide destinations. Registration is not required, and the SIM is plug-and-play with a 30-day validity from first use. It can be refilled via the Orange France website, making it a convenient option for extended trips or frequent travel to France.
Love Mobile Data Only UK & France
This 5GB data SIM is designed for extended travel with coverage across the UK and France. It uses a universal triple-cut SIM (Standard/Micro/Nano) suitable for most smartphones and many unlocked 2G, 4G, and 5G devices. The travel SIM supports automatic network selection for optimal signal, ensuring robust connectivity across different regions. It is particularly useful for travellers who require steady data access without locking into a single carrier, with a 60-day validity window to suit both short stays and longer visits.
Love Mobile Data Only UK & Spain
Offering 5GB of data over 60 days, this UK & Spain compatible SIM provides reliable connectivity with universal compatibility via triple-cut SIM. Like other Love 2 Surf options, it automatically connects to the strongest available network for consistent coverage. Ideal for travellers primarily visiting Spain and the UK, it balances data allowance with the flexibility to roam in other supported networks, helping to manage data use on a budget during a European itinerary.
Love Mobile Data Only UK & France
This option mirrors the UK-France pairing with 5GB of data over 60 days, providing universal compatibility via a triple-cut SIM and automatic network switching. It targets travellers who need dependable data while navigating both the UK and France, ensuring access to maps, messaging, and essential apps across multiple networks for stronger coverage in diverse locations.
O2 Pay As You Go SIM Card
The O2 PAYG SIM includes a £15 credit bundle that grants 25GB of data plus unlimited calls and texts, with 25GB roaming allowance for EU use (UK first). This makes it suitable for travellers who plan europe-wide trips with a mix of in-country usage and EU roaming. Activation steps are required to claim the credit, and data usage rules apply to roaming. The plan focuses on straightforward value with a strong emphasis on EU roaming flexibility for short to medium stays.
Three 4G/5G SIM Card UK & Roam Free
Three’s prepaid option offers 200GB total (including a 50GB promo), lasting 30 days. It enables roaming in over 70 destinations, including Europe, with an 18GB roaming allowance. The bundle is designed for travellers who require extensive data and broad international roaming, but note that calls and texts are primarily UK-to-UK, so regional usage outside the UK should be planned with roaming in mind. This plan suits heavy data users who roam across multiple countries.
Three 4G/5G SIM UK Roam Free (Love2surf)
This plan includes unlimited data with a 30-day validity, enabling roaming in over 70 destinations including Europe. It allocates 30GB of roaming data, with emphasis on UK calls and texts. Designed for travellers who need no-capacity data across multiple countries, this option is best for those who rely heavily on constant connectivity while abroad.
Buying Guide
Key considerations for choosing a French SIM card include coverage and network compatibility, data allowance and speed, roaming options, and activation requirements. If you need strong France-focused service, prefer options with dedicated French numbers and easy in-country calls. For travellers, flexible roaming agreements and a generous EU data allowance help avoid costly roaming fees. Consider device compatibility (nano/micro/SIM) and whether a triple-cut SIM is advantageous. If you plan to visit multiple European destinations, select a plan offering broad roaming across the EU and beyond. Finally, verify refill or extension options so you can extend your plan without hassle.
Summary: When selecting a French SIM card, prioritise networks with reliable coverage in major French cities and across Europe, assess data limits relative to your usage (maps, streaming, social, messaging), and check roaming terms to ensure smooth connectivity if you travel outside France. For heavy data users, a plan with unlimited data or large EU roaming allowances is beneficial, while light users may prioritise affordable daily or 60-day options with ample data.
